    2013 Model.

Shield Del Sol™ Fabric available in White/Black. Read below!

The Forza Trisuit has many intricate details of appearance, comfort, and fit we have spent years in refining. This year's model introduced the solid black Liftfoil™ center for more comfort and durability!

Simply put we added the Liftfoil™ panels in the center for a number of reasons:

    • To improve the durability. Yes, this fabric is more durable, which is important in an area where rubbing occurs against a saddle and where some people's thighs rub together.
    • To keep the modesty panel, well, modest. This fabric is not diaphanous at all (meaning not see-through). Something we all appreciate not involuntarily seeing on others.
    • To make this trishort faster in non-wetsuit races. Liftfoil™ is our swimskin fabric. The Liftfoil™ Speed Trisuit is made entirely out of this swimskin fabric. The addition of these panels on the front and back not only makes this trishort faster, but they eliminate any adverse affects when worn with a wetsuit.

Also included is our famous Compressor™ double legband. Your hamstrings and quadriceps will thank you for the incredible support. This suit also features our Invisipad™, a quick-drying, thin, unobstructive, fleece tripad suspended from the inside to offer support and comfort without the appearance of a pad.

This suit has 5 utility pockets for your racing needs, 16-inch YKK® front zipper, Curvilinear™ seamlines, and contrast flatstitch. It is made of Forza Compressor™ legs, Skin Cooler™ Stretch panels and Carrera™ Skin torso (see Fabric Facts). Swim, bike, and run in comfort without changing. Race with it under your wetsuit!

De Soto's White Forza Trisuit is not just white! It is made of De Soto's latest innovative fabric called Shield del Sol™ This is a smooth version of Forza Compressor fabric. It is white but unlike other white fabrics, it is not diaphanous (this means see-through). You cannot see through it at all. Press your finger up against it and you will see what we mean! Due to its opacity, it will offer more sun protection than any other white fabric in the world. Independent UVB testing is currently being done. We intentionally put black panels in the crotch area to avoid saddle stains while creating a more flattering appearance.

Limited Edition Colors for this season:

    • Italia Pink: This is a pastel pink reminiscent of the Maglia Rosa Jersey worn by the leader of the Giro D'Italia.
    • Nassau Blue: This is a soothing creamy blue that was first used on the 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air.

This item is not designed for repeated use as a swim suit in a chlorinated pool.

    Product FAQs

    2. What is the SPF/UPF rating for this product?

This suit is designed for triathlons that permit the use of wetsuits during the swim segment. You wear this suit under your wetsuit for the swim, then you remove the wetsuit and keep the Forza Trisuit on for the entire race. It has 5 pockets making it an ideal suit for long distance triathlons. Of course, when there is nothing it the pockets, you will never know they are present, which makes this suit great for shorter triathlons that permit wetsuits.

    2. What is the SPF/UPF rating for this product?

To date, in the USA there are still no federal regulations for SPF, or UPF ratings in clothing.

Although many manufacturers list SPF/UPF ratings on their clothing tags, they are doing so in a very biased and unwarranted manner. You see, there is not yet an accreditation process to regulate these claims in the USA. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), together with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) are currently exploring the many outside influences on fabrics, such as salt and chlorinated water, stretch, and durability to determine a standard for clothing in relation to sun protection.

So, if a company sells you on their SPF/UPF rated products and says you do not need to wear sunscreen, they will be lying to you just to make a sale.

That said, our fabrics have been tested for their effectiveness against UVB rays by an independent organization. The Skin Cooler fabrics we created block 75% of UVB rays. This is why we recommend you wear sunscreen underneath these products. It is crucial to keep in mind that a sunscreen's SPF/UPF rating refers only to its ability to protect skin from UVB radiation, the rays that cause sunburn. Because we know that UVA damage can be just as insidious, it is essential for the health of your skin that you use a sunscreen that contains the UVA-protecting ingredients of titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and/or avobenzone.

We have had all our fabrics tested by an independent testing service and they found that our Forza Fabric blocks 75% of UVB rays.
