The Riviera Collection has quickly become our top-of-the-line grupo where we have spared no expense to provide you with the ultimate in comfort and performance. This is the case with the sleeved version of the Riviera Tri Jersey (product code RTJ). Made of Forza Compressor™ body, Skin Cooler™ panels, 3 back pockets, full front length YKK® zipper, and contrast flatstitch. The Forza Compressor around the midsection provides support, comfort and a slimming effect.
This new sleeved version provides you with much needed sun protection for long rides and races. The sleeves extend over the biceps and are finished with Skin Cooler underarms and cuffs. We did not just add sleeves to this piece, but rather, we fully integrated the sleeve into the body for more ergonomic comfort and aerodynamic fit. It acts like a rash guard while under your wetsuit, and you forget you are wearing it while running. The 3 pockets in back make it a great training and racing piece. The tide is turning on performance cycling jerseys being more skin tight and aerodynamic, but nobody needs aerodynamics more than a triathlete racing alone against the clock and in a pack of riders.
Match it with our popular Riviera Tri Short now with 2-pockets or the new Riviera Tribib for the ultimate two-piece long distance race outfit
This item is not designed for repeated use as a swim suit in a chlorinated pool.
- What is the SPF/UPF rating for this product?
To date, in the USA there are still no federal regulations for SPF, or UPF ratings in clothing.
Although many manufacturers list SPF/UPF ratings on their clothing tags, they are doing so in a very biased and unwarranted manner. You see, there is not yet an accreditation process to regulate these claims in the USA. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), together with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) are currently exploring the many outside influences on fabrics, such as salt and chlorinated water, stretch, and durability to determine a standard for clothing in relation to sun protection.
So, if a company sells you on their SPF/UPF rated products and says you do not need to wear sunscreen, they will be lying to you just to make a sale.
That said, our fabrics have been tested for their effectiveness against UVB rays by an independent organization. The Skin Cooler fabrics we created block 75% of UVB rays. This is why we recommend you wear sunscreen underneath these products. It is crucial to keep in mind that a sunscreen's SPF/UPF rating refers only to its ability to protect skin from UVB radiation, the rays that cause sunburn. Because we know that UVA damage can be just as insidious, it is essential for the health of your skin that you use a sunscreen that contains the UVA-protecting ingredients of titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and/or avobenzone.
We have had all our fabrics tested by an independent testing service and they found that our Forza Fabric blocks 75% of UVB rays.
