What makes ours different? Our Skin Cooler fiber is designed to feel and perform like silk (from a silkworm). Through Biomimicry, we took the virtues of this natural fiber and created a synthetic silk. It will keep you cool in hot weather and cooler when it is wet. Put it on and you will instantly feel the cool sensation. Wet it and you will notice a drop in the surface temperature of the skin between 7 and 10 degrees.
A MEDICAL TESTIM0NIAL: We received this letter from Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon Dr. Michael Bax.*
I am an avid runner and triathlete and I recently discovered your Skin Cooler products, of which I'm a huge fan. I have been wearing them for a few months now and couldn't be happier. I am a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. Every patient I see is plagued by basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or melanoma. I recommend your products to my active patients on a daily basis. It allows them to continue their active lifestyle while protecting themselves from the sun. I find your product to be far superior to all other cooling and sun protective lines. I truly appreciate your efforts and innovations.

Note: No garment should ever be a substitute so we always recommend you wear sunscreen underneath these, and all, products. It is crucial to keep in mind that a sunscreen's (whichever brand you may choose) SPF/UPF rating refers only to its ability to protect skin from UVB radiation. Because we know that UVA damage can be just as insidious, it is essential for the health of your skin that you use a sunscreen that contains the UVA-protecting ingredients of titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.

I've got to say that I was skeptical at first of how wearing extra fabric would keep me cooler, but now I don't go out for an hour plus long activity without these whether it be running, road cycling, or mountain biking. They are also versatile enough to be used as light arm warmers when the temps are a little lower. While they did get a little torn during one mtb wipeout, the damage was less than expected, and I've been using the same pair for a year since without any further issues or tearing.
Very well made. Good quality. Fabric feels nice. I bought size small and they are much smaller than ones I bought 2 years ago. They’ll make a nice gift for a friend instead.
First I want to say I think your arm coolers are very good, the buying process and customer service excellent. I am a bit picky, so I hope you take my input into consideration for future products. I live in Florida, and temps + humidity are just starting to increase. While I am no longer a competitive cyclist, I purchased these to give better protection to my "aging" skin. I will also use them for riding horses. I would have liked a bit more stretch in the fabric, the size small fits me fine and their is good stretch, but I want more :) Some of the clothing I use for riding horses has Icefil or something similar to help keep the heat away from the body. I'm not sure if I can wear these all summer, but I'm sure going to try. Perhaps I expected a little more cooling like my riding shirts have. Would it be possible down the road to make the underside of the arm cooler a mesh fabric to allow for more air flow? I realize this may sound ridiculous but it definitely helps with the heat and humidity here. Another great use for these have been the cool mornings, where my regular arm warmers are too warm for my 60 degree mornings. So I think you make a great product, thank you, and hope this info helps.
The arm coolers lived up to there billing and did provide cooling on a hot (95) and humid Atlanta run. The only issue I had was some chafing at the top of the sleeves which I am trying to figure out how to prevent. I am looking forward to wearing them in the Ironman Augusta 70.3 on 9/29 which is expected to be another hot run
Hi Richard, Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Emilio has some good tips on eliminating the potential to chafe. You can check them out here - https://www.desotosport.com/blogs/tips-from-emilio/a-tip-from-emilio-to-chafe-or-not-to-chafe-that-is-the-question. We hope this solves the problem. ~De Soto Sport

The location of where the Arm Cooler length should be measured depends on where you want it to sit but most people like it somewhere on or just above the “ball” that constitutes your bicep when your lift up your elbow so the upper arm is parallel to the ground. Most important is that you consider how long the sleeve is on the top(s) you plan on wearing. Please see attached photos.
