49” hips were a bubble between LG and XL. Large was the ticket.
I've bought several of these in the past and they have never failed me. I do a lot of long-distance events and feel just great after the rides. Where else can you get bibs with pockets? Nowhere. I'll never buy another brand again!
Quality and comfort is great . I am 6’2 225 lbs. XL was too loose so bought L. Much better fit. Suspenders are still a little loose but no pressure on shoulders. I love the longer inseam comfort. Pad is great. I recommend sizing smaller that what you normally wear.
Very comfortable bib- love the extra side pockets! And dries pretty quickly! Love all my DeSoto gear!
This bib hangs in there with the big names of cycling. Plus , with the pockets, allows for wear off road and gravel. Good bang for the buck.
As a previous owner my 3rd pair I switched to this style because it’s totally revamped and I love them. True fit better design and material I give you all tremendous thank you for listening to your community
I love these bibs. I've had size L for 5 years and they're terrific. But I've put on weight so thought I'd try the XLs. Unfortunately I had to return the XL for a refund because the legs are so long they were below my knees. It's still a great product, but doesn't fit my current physique.
These are the best cycling bibs I have ever worn. The three pocket design allows me to take my phone, cycling computer, and bike radar with all of the connectivity out to my bike and keeps it secure. The only potential problem is that the sizing seems to put me in a zone where I am lost between the medium and the large (I am 5'10" and 178 lbs). I think I will try the mediums next time. Size aside - you will not find a higher quality product - I have tried most of them.
Have these Bibs and the 400 mile bibs. The 400 mile pad in both is the best I have ever found. The Mobius Bib are cut higher than the 400 mile bib so they cover more of abdomen.
I have four pairs of your bibs and rarely wear anything else unless I am on a short ride. They are super comfy and I absolutely love all the convenient pockets. I have two pair that are about 4 years old and they look brand new, there isn't a loose thread on them. These are well worth the expense.
I wasn’t used to the long cut that sit just above the knee cap, but I quickly found that I really like the fit. The bib is super stretchy (easy for pit stops) and breathable. Fees like I’m not wearing anything at all. I’ll probably end up buying another. So proud that they are made right here in San Diego!
These are my go bibs. It's my 3rd or 4th pair. I do have some 400mile bibs, but like these better. I'm at a replace 1 for 1, so when an old pair wears out, I replace with these. This got rid of last pair of pearl izumi's. Price is reasonable, chamois works for me, fabric material is nice, just the right amount of stretch.
I like them a lot. Never thought I'd where a bib type cycling short but now that I have I can see why people like them. I ride a 95g carbon saddle routinely 33 miles twice a week. With gel padded shorts I would role off one side or the other and it felt like I was always riding on an edge. The 400 mile pad allows my sit bones to find the sweet spot in the saddle and then I forget about it for the whole ride. My only grip is that the shoulder strap seems to sit on my nipples instead of the nicer mesh part of the strap. Not really De Soto's fault they can't plan for every man's body geometry.
While I've only gotten in three rides with these newly purchased bib shorts from Desoto, their comfort is noticeably different and better as the ride gets longer. The Mobius bibs contour to the body better than my other bibs as does the 400 mile padding. For rides >2 hours, this makes a noticeable difference which has helped my fitness build for some longer Fall endurance events. While the purchase price may be a bit on the high side, it is worth it for the reward of many long, comfortable rides.
