The size chart above should serve as a general guide. If you would like assistance in determining the proper size, please send the following information to contact@desotosport.com.
WEIGHT - Accuracy helps us provide a more accurate size for you.
CHEST - Fullest part of breast, measured as the largest part of circumference right over the pectoral muscle.
WAIST - Circumference measured at the belly-button line - this is NOT the same as your pants waist size.
HIPS - Circumference measured at the widest point, NOT at your hips where your belt may go. Typically this will measure just a few inches below your hip bones and around the largest part of the glutes.
If you do not have a tape measure and you need something to measure with, use a belt, or smart phone power cord, and a ruler.

The center pocket may require the help of the aid station or a bit more flexibility on the part of the wearer
The pockets are not designed to carry excessive weight such as water bottles, gel flasks, or any comparable weight
This is not a compression garment, yet it is supposed to fit snug, for aerodynamic purposes or as a base layer under dress attire

What makes ours different? Our Skin Cooler fiber is designed to feel and perform like silk (from a silkworm). Through Biomimicry, we took the virtues of this natural fiber and created a synthetic silk. It will keep you cool in hot weather and cooler when it is wet. Put it on and you will instantly feel the cool sensation. Wet it and you will notice a drop in the surface temperature of the skin between 7 and 10 degrees.
A MEDICAL TESTIM0NIAL: We received this letter from a respected Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon:
I am an avid runner and triathlete and I recently discovered your Skin Cooler products, of which I'm a huge fan. I have been wearing them for a few months now and couldn't be happier. I am a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon. Every patient I see is plagued by basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or melanoma. I recommend your products to my active patients on a daily basis. It allows them to continue their active lifestyle while protecting themselves from the sun. I find your product to be far superior to all other cooling and sun protective lines. I truly appreciate your efforts and innovations.
Note:No garment should ever be a substitute so we always recommend you wear sunscreen underneath these, and all, products. It is crucial to keep in mind that a sunscreen's (whichever brand you may choose) SPF/UPF rating refers only to its ability to protect skin from UVB radiation. Because we know that UVA damage can be just as insidious, it is essential for the health of your skin that you use a sunscreen that contains the UVA-protecting ingredients of titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.

These skin cooler tops are my absolute favorite “go to” for cycling/running. Love everything about them. The fit, the material, the pockets, and the quality.
Can’t find fault with them at all.
When looking for a tri-top that did not have a zipper on the front due to the chafing that it caused me, I came across the DeSoto products. When unsure of sizing, I emailed customer support and immediately was contacted by the owner to help me with the size and to answer my questions. Once the tops that I ordered arrived, I was very pleased with the fit as well as how cool they felt when wet under the hot Texas sun during my long training sessions. Looking forward to racing with my DeSoto Skin Cooler this weekend at Ironman Texas!
I had a tri coach tell me these shirts are too hot when they are dry…with continuous 100 degree days, I broke down and bought one…best purchase ever…it’s super hard to stay dry when you’re running…not only did I feel cooler, the fit was perfect…I felt covered, the shirt didn’t constantly move, it didn’t feel snug, and it feels like a great athletic top without the overexposure of a tri top…love it…
I purchased the long-sleeve version of this top and liked the fit/cut so much that I then purchased the short-sleeve version. The sleeve cuffs on the short-sleeve top add a nice design aesthetic. There are two things that affected my experience with this shirt. Neither has stopped me from wearing it on every ride/run, however. 1. The two vertical stitching lines that border the left and right edges of the vertical pockets on the back of the shirt are bulky. 2. The middle pocket is positioned too high. The description for this top says "you may need help to access this pocket or require more flexibility". I don't have enough flexibility in my arms/shoulders and timing access to this pocket at an aid station is inefficient during a long triathlon. The opening of the middle pocket could be cut/lowered by one inches without affecting the storage capabilities of the pocket. The position of the pocket could be lowered by one inch as well so that the bottom of the middle pocket is just above the opening of the lower pocket (or reduce the vertical size of the lower pocket by an inch).
First Impressions: Very comfortable fit, close fitting but not compressive so it is easy to get on and off. I'm 5'11" 145 lbs and the medium fits well. Skin Coolers work best when it is dry and windy, and this morning It was very humid and calm so I'm not sure how well it was able to keep me cooler, but it did a good job of pulling perspiration off of my skin, as the shirt was soaked after my 50 minute run. The big plus is the comfort of the shirt, which is not always true for synthetic garments. If it works well after a few more runs I'll definitely buy more, as I can see this as my go to shirts for Arkansas summers.
Just as good as its long sleeved twin. Works great as a running and cycling top in hot weather (dry or humid) and as baselayer under a cycling jersey on cooler days. I use it in temps from the low sixies and up, and it really shines in hot/ humid conditions.
Also like the snug, but non compressing fit. Will I buy again? You bet.
Loving this short-sleeve top. For biking I use it as a base layer as I typically ride early when it's a bit cooler. Never had overheating issues even with a bike jersey over this top
When running it's an excellent stand-alone top layer. In the outdoor pool, it provides much-need protection for this fair-skinned athlete
The fit is tight so size up; I normally wear medium and in this shirt size large is comfortable. Only drawback is the neck rides a bit high and can chafe against my sternocleidomastoid; would like to see more of a v-neck design for the next release
Keep making great stuff DeSoto!
I wore this top while running the Disney marathon recently. On a hot & humid day, the Skin Cooler really lived up to its name. I was cool and comfortable all race long. Great fit, very comfortable, and works as intended especially when pouring water over the shoulders.
As always, I enjoy purchasing products from DeSoto. Not only do they have the highest quality products, but their customer service is second to none. You definitely can't go wrong with them!
A friend has the long sleeve version of this. He has really liked it. I purchased the short sleeve in white. It is so comfortable...I wear it running, cycling....even after working out as a compression shirt. The rear pockets are a plus, just a great addition to anyone’s exercise attire.
Works exactly as described. It’s stretchy, but hugs next to the skin. It’s very lightweight. I’ve used some other ‘cooling’ products, but this is now my go to for training and racing in the heat. Think comfortable arm coolers for your body. Nice length too. No chance of sun burn on your back. I’m 6’1 180lbs. Medium works for me
I will definitely be buying more of these cooler products. What a difference they make. I have worn this on hot and cold days. When hot and sweaty, it cooled me down. When cold, I didn't sweat and it was a nice layer. It is a very comfortable stretchy garment. You could order a size small and it would still work. The right size for me was a medium. I am 6'1 41"chest and 180lbs. Love the length of it.
Awesome - just awesome! So light weight and comfortable, feels like running in nothing. Neck and arms don't feel restrictive at all. Get it wet and it does actually keep you a little cool! Not as much in humid weather but still great to run in. Favorite run shirt for sure!
I love this shirt. The material is soft, comfortable and the cooling fabric is like magic. I'm not sure how De Soto was able to weave an air-conditioner into the fibers of the fabric, but they've done it! I've been wearing this on my long runs in the Midwest--It's extremely hot and humid. The cooling fabric keeps my entire upper body feeling much cooler than normal. It works great when wet with water, but I also feel cool when the shirt is wet with sweat. The sleeves are cut a bit longer than a normal t-shirt and the the entire shirt is cut a bit longer so it doesn't ride up and is comfortable under a race or fuel belt. The back pockets are nice for gels, blocks or a car key. This is my new favorite training shirt and my "go to" for any key session. Overall, I could not be happier with this shirt! I only wish there were a few more designs to choose from so I could wear a different one every day.
My new go to top - very lightweight and soft, feels great. Almost like running w/nothing. Definitely keeps your skin surface cooler when it is wet. Bought one and liked it so much, got a second one! Once again a top quality Desoto product!! Thanks.
Used this on a hot bike ride and the sun protection was great. I think the primary use case is probably for a sunny/hot/unshaded run where ice can be added to the pockets. Probably not quite enough compression to be a good aero bike top but I used it anyway and it was fine.
