Skin Cooler™ 90
When the human body heats up, it sweats to cool itself. Many brands have tried to support this natural process with fabrics that wick moisture away to speed up evaporation.
Since 2005, De Soto has taken it a step further—using that moisture to actually cool the body.
Skin Cooler™ fabric features a unique knit with tiny channels. As these channels get wet, they absorb moisture and swell, pulling heat away from the skin. This creates a noticeable cooling effect, not just faster drying. The degree of cooling depends on airflow, humidity, ambient temperature, and the moisture’s own temperature.
As you sweat, the fabric gets cooler—giving you a refreshing, active cooling sensation.
Skin Cooler 90™ delivers this same cooling effect with the added benefit of reliable sun protection.
A MEDICAL TESTIM0NIAL: We received this letter from a respected Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon:
I am an avid runner and triathlete and I recently discovered your Skin Cooler products, of which I'm a huge fan. I have been wearing them for a few months now and couldn't be happier. I am a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon. Every patient I see is plagued by basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or melanoma. I recommend your products to my active patients on a daily basis. It allows them to continue their active lifestyle while protecting themselves from the sun. I find your product to be far superior to all other cooling and sun protective lines. I truly appreciate your efforts and innovations.
Note: No garment should ever be a substitute so we always recommend you wear sunscreen underneath these, and all, products. It is crucial to keep in mind that a sunscreen's (whichever brand you may choose) SPF/UPF rating refers only to its ability to protect skin from UVB radiation. Because we know that UVA damage can be just as insidious, it is essential for the health of your skin that you use a sunscreen that contains the UVA-protecting ingredients of titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.
Do the colored fabrics, or sections with logos affect the cooling technology? No! You will notice the fabric on the inside is all white despite the outside color or logos of the Skin Cooler product The sublimation process we use to place logos or color on our fabric turns the ink into a gas that adheres only to the outside of the fabric. Therefore this ink is non-absorbent and does not affect the technical integrity of the product in any way. The colored parts of the products will keep you just as cool as the white.
What about black? Our solid black Skin Cooler garments which are yard-dyed black instead of sublimated. his is why the fabric inside is black inside and and out. The actual fibers are dyed before knitting it into fabric. We estimate the black might add between 1° and 3° F depending on the ambient temperature and humidity.
