What makes ours different? Our Skin Cooler fiber is designed to feel and perform like silk (from a silkworm). Through Biomimicry, we took the virtues of this natural fiber and created a synthetic silk. It will keep you cool in hot weather and cooler when it is wet. Put it on and you will instantly feel the cool sensation. Wet it and you will notice a drop in the surface temperature of the skin between 7 and 10 degrees.
A MEDICAL TESTIM0NIAL: We received this letter from Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon Dr. Michael Bax.*
I am an avid runner and triathlete and I recently discovered your Skin Cooler products, of which I'm a huge fan. I have been wearing them for a few months now and couldn't be happier. I am a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. Every patient I see is plagued by basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or melanoma. I recommend your products to my active patients on a daily basis. It allows them to continue their active lifestyle while protecting themselves from the sun. I find your product to be far superior to all other cooling and sun protective lines. I truly appreciate your efforts and innovations.

Note: No garment should ever be a substitute so we always recommend you wear sunscreen underneath these, and all, products. It is crucial to keep in mind that a sunscreen's (whichever brand you may choose) SPF/UPF rating refers only to its ability to protect skin from UVB radiation. Because we know that UVA damage can be just as insidious, it is essential for the health of your skin that you use a sunscreen that contains the UVA-protecting ingredients of titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.

great on the run too
Used them during White Lake Half in over 100 degrees on the run and stayed as cool as possible getting them soaked at every aide station. If you are racing in the sun and heat, these are indispensable.
Overall the quality is very good. The cost in relation to value is good. Excellent customer service. Had an issue where I needed to exchange products. The process was quick and very easy.
Superior Heat Management
Dear De Soto Sport, This afternoon I used my new De Soto arm coolers for the first time: Awesome, I love them. Today the weather was a lovely 94, sunny and humid here in Missouri. Your arm coolers kept my skin out of the baking sun allowing me to manage my run more effectively. Sizing (s) is spot on, they fit exactly from wrist to just under my short sleeve garments (tricot, one piece, run shirt). Unlike my other branded arm coolers, De Soto۪s fit snug to the skin and have zero sag as they become wet: Superior Product. Kind regards, Randy Johnson
They Work. Plain and simple.
It's hard to believe that covering your skin will make it cooler. There's definitely a mental block that you'll have to overcome. But riding with them in the heat will help with that quick enough. Even when they're not wet, there's definitely a cooling effect that's noticeable, whether it's just the decrease in absorption in the skin or some helpful increased movement across the skin, or both. When wet, they work amazingly. As an experiment, I took one off and left one on. I rode first with it dry, and my covered arm was a little cooler. Then I wet it - as well as my uncovered arm - and there was no contest: the arm cooler kept my covered arm far cooler and more comfortable. And my uncovered arm dried off much more quickly, making the arm cooler the clear winner. The only difficultly obviously is keeping them wet while training/racing, especially for someone with heat-induced urticaria that prevents me from sweating as much as I should. But, much better than not having them in this mid-west sweatbox I call home.

The location of where the Arm Cooler length should be measured depends on where you want it to sit but most people like it somewhere on or just above the “ball” that constitutes your bicep when your lift up your elbow so the upper arm is parallel to the ground. Most important is that you consider how long the sleeve is on the top(s) you plan on wearing. Please see attached photos.
