Features and Benefits:
  • Skin Cooler 90™  fabric stretches with you, is soft next-to-skin and breathable.
  • Fabric blocks 90% UVB rays and provides a cooling sensation when wet
  • Softcover elastic on upper arms to keep them in place
  • Reflective logos for increased low-light visibility
  • We are often imitated.  Remember just because it is white, it does not mean the fabric will cool you.  READ ON!

What makes ours different?  Our Skin Cooler fiber is designed to feel and perform like silk (from a silkworm).  Through Biomimicry, we took the virtues of this natural fiber and created a synthetic silk.  It will keep you cool in hot weather and cooler when it is wet.  Put it on and you will instantly feel the cool sensation.  Wet it and you will notice a drop in the surface temperature of the skin between 7 and 10 degrees.

A MEDICAL TESTIM0NIAL:  We received this letter from Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon Dr. Michael Bax.*

I am an avid runner and triathlete and I recently discovered your Skin Cooler products, of which I'm a huge fan.  I have been wearing them for a few months now and couldn't be happier.  I am a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY.  Every patient I see is plagued by basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or melanoma.  I recommend your products to my active patients on a daily basis.  It allows them to continue their active lifestyle while protecting themselves from the sun. I find your product to be far superior to all other cooling and sun protective lines.  I truly appreciate your efforts and innovations.

Note: No garment should ever be a substitute so we always recommend you wear sunscreen underneath these, and all, products. It is crucial to keep in mind that a sunscreen's (whichever brand you may choose) SPF/UPF rating refers only to its ability to protect skin from UVB radiation. Because we know that UVA damage can be just as insidious, it is essential for the health of your skin that you use a sunscreen that contains the UVA-protecting ingredients of titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.

    Arm coolers

I have had DeSoto arm coolers for many years. My brother noticed them and asked for some for Christmas. With all the copy cats DeSoto arm coolers are still the best. He was very happy to receive them and plans to put them to good use.

    Great cooling fabric

The arm coolers lived up to there billing and did provide cooling on a hot (95) and humid Atlanta run. The only issue I had was some chafing at the top of the sleeves which I am trying to figure out how to prevent. I am looking forward to wearing them in the Ironman Augusta 70.3 on 9/29 which is expected to be another hot run

Hi Richard, Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Emilio has some good tips on eliminating the potential to chafe. You can check them out here - We hope this solves the problem. ~De Soto Sport

Don't even notice them while wearing.

Great. One thing that is rarely mentioned is this item provides a layer of material between "most" bike aero arm pads and your skin. Most aero arm pad material on triathlon aero bars are not friendly to your bare skin. This item counters that issue and in general, I normally do not notice this item while swimming or biking.

Used for training for years, now for racing...

I have loved and used these coolers for training for years. They are great for early mornings and when the sun starts to really cook. Great protection and have kept a lot of UV rays off of my arms on long rides. More recently, I have been doing Ironmans with them. Not sure why it has taken me so long. They are fantastic for direct sun / hot conditions. For Kona, they are a must. If rolled up as Emilio demos in a video, they are simple to get on during the bike even if when wet from the swim. Will not race without them anymore. This year Boulder Ironman was exceptionally cold on the bike and then hot / direct sun on the run. Helped for both of these legs. Finally, they are quite durable and last a long time. Exceptional product.

Great to pair with my sleeveless tri tops

There are just some races that I can't wear a wetsuit so wearing my skin cooler shirt in the swim isn't a great idea. This is where I used the skin coolers for the long bike ride and paired with my sleeveless top. Glad to still have skin coolers when the shirt doesn't work for me.

The location of where the Arm Cooler length should be measured depends on where you want it to sit but most people like it somewhere on or just above the “ball” that constitutes your bicep when your lift up your elbow so the upper arm is parallel to the ground.  Most important is that you consider how long the sleeve is on the top(s) you plan on wearing. Please see attached photos.

Also, 98% of people who order tend to fit into the same size Arm Coolers as they would any of our tops.  In order to determine that size, just send me the following:
CHEST (measured as the largest part of circumference right over the pectoral muscle)
WAIST (circumference measured at the belly-button line - this is NOT the same as your pants waist size)
HIPS (circumference measured at the widest point, NOT at your hips where your belt may go. typically this will measure just a few inches below your hips bones and around the largest part of the glutes)
With these we use an algorithm to create what sort of body type you have in order to determine what size you would be in all our products.
We look forward to helping you more!
