  • Whether you buy it in white or in black, if worn under a helmet, there is no difference in how much it will keep you cool, but you will  enjoy how it keeps sweat out of your eyes, and protects you from the sun through any vents in your helmet, especially if you have short hair, very little hair, or no hair.

What makes ours different?  Our Skin Cooler fiber is designed to feel and perform like silk (from a silkworm).  Through Biomimicry, we took the virtues of this natural fiber and created a synthetic silk.  It will keep you cool in hot weather and cooler when it is wet.  Put it on and you will instantly feel the cool sensation.  Wet it and you will notice a drop in the surface temperature of the skin between 7 and 10 degrees.

    Great for underneath a ski helmet

    I've had issues with overheating when downhill skiing to the point where my goggles fog and build up moisture which impacts my vision, and any beanie I wear was soaked at the end of the day. I'm bald, so a beanie is necessary to keep me from getting cold under my helmet. My sister found this one from DeSoto, and what a difference! I'm still plenty warm, but my goggles don't fog any longer, and at the end of the day I'm more comfortable because the beanie allowed the heat and moisture to wick away. It's also easy to dry when I take a break using a standard bathroom hand dryer, and it's easy to wash as well. I just ordered another one so I have a backup, but I highly recommend.

    Great purchase

    Bought this for my father in law (who is bald) for christmas. He was very happy and used it immediately. I originally got it to keep his head protected from the sun but he said it worked well keeping it warm too. Glad I purchased. Customer service was great too!!!

    I had to order 2…again.

    I purchased 2 Helmet Beanies a few years ago, But other members of my family used them more than I did, so I ordered 2 more! Great to wear under a helmet or alone during a run.

    Perfect size

    Competitors make these, but they're too deep. These are the perfect depth to fit your head. And the perfect weight so they're not stifling. Pour water on your head (through the holes in your helmet) and it will stay cool for a while.

    The best

    I've been through a lot of different type of beanies. For hot weather, these are by far the best, I just don't bother looking for a better product anymore, it's hard to believe there could be something better. I perspire a lot and these absorb the sweat and keep it out of my eyes. Also, the skin cooler fabric really works to keep the head cool.

    Heavy sweater

    Lightweight and fits well. I have change several times but I am heavy sweater but have used several products like this the best

    The best beanie I've every had

    I've worn the Skin Cooler Helmet Beanie for three years and can confirm that it kept me cool when it was hot and warm when it was cool. Living in Colorado, if you want to ride in winter, you need to dress correctly and the skin cooler helmet beanie gave me the right combination of wind protection as it wicked away sweat on the uphills and didn't chill me on the descents. I now have two, just in case.
